Actor Ajin Joy, who recently caught the audience’s attention with his performance in Vaazha 2, has added another major project to his filmography. The actor has joined the cast of Mohanlal’s upcoming movie Operation Ganga, helmed by filmmaker Vishnu Mohan.

Ajin confirmed his association with the project through a social media post, writing, “Another journey… See you along the way.” The announcement has sparked excitement among fans, particularly with the actor set to appear alongside Mohanlal.

Written and directed by Vishnu Mohan, Operation Ganga is produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies. The film marks Mohanlal’s 367th outing as a lead actor.

The story is set against the backdrop of the Russia–Ukraine war and draws inspiration from Operation Ganga, India’s evacuation mission that brought stranded Indian citizens back from Ukraine during the conflict.

The film’s shoot is currently underway in Georgia, with an ambitious production schedule planned across multiple locations. The makers have reportedly planned around 180 days of filming in Poland, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Delhi, Dehradun and Kochi.

First Song from Urvashi and Joju George Starrer Aasha Released

Kalidas Jayaram Starrer ‘Many Many Happy Returns’ Teaser Out

The official teaser of ‘Many Many Happy Returns’, the upcoming romantic comedy directed by Ahmed Kabir, is now out. The film marks Ahmed Kabir’s return to the big screen after delivering acclaimed projects including June and Madhuram, along with the popular investigative series Kerala Crime Files.

Kalidas Jayaram takes the lead in the film, with newcomer Lakshmi Jyothish making her acting debut as the female lead. Lal plays Kalidas’ father, adding another notable presence to the cast.

Kerala Film Chamber Launches ‘My Talkies’ OTT Platform for Malayalam Cinema

Kochi: A new chapter in the digital journey of Malayalam cinema has begun with the Kerala Film Chamber launching its own OTT platform, ‘My Talkies’. The initiative aims to provide Malayalam films with an additional avenue to reach audiences, particularly projects that struggle to find space on established streaming platforms.

The platform is expected to begin operations in November 2026. According to Kerala Film Chamber president Anil Thomas, the initiative has been conceived to support producers by creating another streaming opportunity for films that may not receive offers from major private OTT platforms.

The logo of My Talkies was unveiled in the presence of prominent members of the Malayalam film industry, including filmmaker Sibi Malayil and actor Shwetha Menon, along with representatives of various film organisations.

A New Opportunity for Malayalam Filmmakers

Speaking about the initiative, Sibi Malayil described My Talkies as an important development for Malayalam cinema, particularly as the industry moves beyond its 100-year milestone. He noted that the platform could help producers showcase their films to audiences worldwide and potentially provide better opportunities for marketing and revenue.

The platform could also benefit actors and technicians by giving their work an additional route to reach viewers beyond Kerala and India.

Actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty continues his efforts to promote promising newcomers with ‘MAGICC’, a new multilingual short film that is now streaming on the official YouTube channel of Rishab Shetty Films.

Directed by debutant filmmaker Shivachiranthana, the film marks the acting debut of Aditya B. Pujar. ‘MAGICC’ has been released in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, bringing its distinctive narrative to audiences across different linguistic regions.

Eko Wins Two Awards at Cambodia Asian Film Festival; Dinjith Ayyathan’s Film Gets International Recognition

Kochi: Malayalam cinema has added another international recognition to its growing list of achievements, with Dinjith Ayyathan’s Eko winning Best Film and Best Screenplay in the competition section at the 4th Cambodia Asian Film Festival.

The recognition marks Eko’s first international award and comes as a significant milestone for director Dinjith Ayyathan and the entire team behind the film.

Dinjith shared the news on social media, describing the recognition as an especially emotional moment for the team.

“This is incredibly special for all of us because this is our first international award for Eko,” the filmmaker wrote while thanking the jury, festival and entire team for believing in the film.

The director also dedicated the award to his father.

The Cambodia Asian Film Festival, held in Phnom Penh, brings together films from across Asia and provides a platform for filmmakers and storytellers from the region.
