9th District Pencak Silat Championship Concludes in Kulgam; Over 200 Players Participate
Director of Sports, Islamic University, Distributes Prizes Among Athletes
Kulgam: The 9th District Pencak Silat Championship was recently held in district Kulgam, with participation from more than 200 athletes from across the district. The championship was organized at Aashiya Ali Academy, Kulgam. The inaugural ceremony was graced by MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, who inaugurated the championship as the chief guest.
The concluding ceremony was attended by Dr. Mubashir Hussain Malik, Director of Sports at the Islamic University, who was also present as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the participants.
Organized under the banner of the Pencak Silat Association of Jammu and Kashmir, the event was hosted by the District Kulgam Pencak Silat Association. Participants included junior, sub-junior, senior, and pre-teen age group athletes.
It is noteworthy that this championship was jointly organized by the Youth Services & Sports Department Kulgam and the District Pencak Silat Association Kulgam.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the Pencak Silat Association Kulgam, Dr. Mohammad Akbar, expressed gratitude to all the participating athletes, Parents and their coaches, He announced that those who won medals in the championship Will provide the apportunity for participating at UT level competitions in future Secretary Pencak Silat Association Kulgam Paid his special gratitude to Pencak Silat Association j and k for their support he also thanked to Ayesha Ali Academy for providing thier lidgestic and moral support while concluding the ceremony Dr. Akbar praised the overall work of sports council j and k for sponsoring such sports events throughout the UT jk
