From Kashmir to the World Innovation Through Eco-Art
In a powerful convergence of tradition and modern sustainability, internationally acclaimed eco-artist Mudasir Rehman Dar led a transformative workshop this week, urging local artisans to turn everyday waste polythene, plastic bottles, and discarded materials into eco-friendly art with global resonance.
The workshop, held under the guidance of the Department of Handicrafts & Handlooms, Kulgam and supervised by Sheikh Hemayun Javid aimed to bridge the gap between traditional Kashmiri craftsmanship and innovative design thinking.
Mudasir Rehman Dar, hailed as one of the world's foremost voices in eco Friendly art, shared his vision of environmental activism through artistic expression. His installations crafted entirely from waste have become symbols of resilience and ecological awareness, earning him recognition far beyond South Asia.
This is not just about recycling it's about reimagining Mudasir Rehman Dar told attendees, as he encouraged artisans to think of their work not only as craft, but as a medium for cultural preservation, protest, and purpose.
