🇮🇳 Thousands Join Mega Tiranga Rally in Kulgam

Kulgam, August 12: Kulgam witnessed a grand and vibrant Mega Tiranga Rally today, with thousands of men, women, government employees, students, youth, traders and locals participating with immense enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.

The rally was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, who also personally led the rally. The procession commenced from Mini Secretariat Kulgam, proceeded towards Gantagar/Qazigund Adda, and after returning, passed through the Main Bazaar Kulgam before culminating at the Mini Secretariat.

SSP Kulgam, senior district officers, officials from various departments, school children, youth, field staff of the Youth Services & Sports Department, local traders and prominent citizens joined the rally in large numbers.

Carrying the Tiranga with pride and raising patriotic slogans, the participants turned the streets of Kulgam into a vibrant display of national unity, patriotism and the spirit of “Har Ghar Tiranga.” The Mega Rally witnessed overwhelming public participation and sent out a strong message of unity and respect for the National Flag.

Tiranga Bike Rally Held in Kulgam Under Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign-2026

Kulgam: A vibrant Tiranga Bike Rally was held in Kulgam under the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign-2026 and Vande Mataram Phase-03. The rally was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Shahzad Alam from Laroo Bus Stand and culminated at Mini Secretariat Kulgam via NH-444 Bypass. Citizens, officers, youth, students Youth Services and Sports field staff and volunteers participated enthusiastically, spreading the message of patriotism, national unity and pride in the Tricolour.

Tiranga Cycle Rally Held in Srinagar Under Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026

Srinagar, August 11, 2026 : The District Youth Services and Sports Office (DYSSO) Srinagar, in collaboration with the District Administration Srinagar, organised a Tiranga Cycle Rally on Tuesday as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026.
The rally commenced from Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) and proceeded towards the picturesque Nishat Garden, with enthusiastic participation from cyclists and sports enthusiasts.
The event was flagged off by DYSSO Srinagar, Mr Ghulam Hassan Lone.
Carrying the National Flag, the Tiranga, the participants cycled along the route, spreading the message of patriotism, national unity and pride.
The rally provided an opportunity for youth and sports participants to actively associate themselves with the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign while promoting cycling and a healthy lifestyle.
The event also reflected the commitment of the Department of Youth Services and Sports towards engaging young people in meaningful activities that foster discipline, fitness, national spirit and community participation.
The Tiranga Cycle Rally concluded at Nishat Garden, leaving participants with a strong sense of pride and enthusiasm for the national campaign.

Zone Kulgam Clinch U-17 Girls Cricket Title in Thrilling Final Against H.C. Gam

Last-Ball Thriller: Zone Kulgam Crowned District U-17 Girls Cricket Champions

Wajeha Javid & Aisha Bint Khursheed Shine as Zone Kulgam Lift U-17 Girls Title

Kulgam, August 10: The Department of Youth Services & Sports (YSS), District Kulgam, successfully concluded the Inter-Zone District-Level U-17 Girls Cricket Tournament, with teams from all six zones of the district participating in the championship.
In the semi-final, Zone Kulgam registered a convincing 10-wicket victory over Zone D.H. Pora, while Zone H.C. Gam defeated Zone Qaimoh to secure their place in the final.
The much-anticipated final between Zone Kulgam and Zone H.C. Gam turned into a thrilling last-ball contest. Batting first, Zone H.C. Gam posted 78 runs in 8 overs, with Hina Waqar top-scoring with 30 runs.
Chasing the target, Zone Kulgam kept the contest alive until the final over. With 7 runs required from the last over and just 1 run needed off the final ball, Zone Kulgam held their nerve and scored the winning run to secure the championship in dramatic fashion.
For Zone Kulgam, Wajeha Javid delivered an outstanding batting performance, scoring 25 runs off 15 balls, including a spectacular six towards mid-wicket. Aisha Bint Khursheed also played a crucial all-round role, scoring 20 runs and taking 2 wickets.
After the victory, the players credited their success to the excellent guidance, coaching and constant encouragement of their coach, Muzafar Ahmad Wani. The players said that his motivation, strategic guidance and confidence in the team played a significant role in their successful campaign.
The players expressed their gratitude to Coach Muzafar Ahmad Wani, saying, “This victory belongs to our entire team, but the hand of our coach Muzafar Ahmad Wani is behind this achievement. His guidance and encouragement motivated us throughout the tournament and helped us achieve this U-17 title.”
With this thrilling victory, Zone Kulgam emerged as the U-17 Girls District-Level Cricket Champions, showcasing excellent skill, teamwork, determination and sporting spirit throughout the tournament.

Yaripora Cluster Beats Qaimoh 16–6 in Thrilling Final

Directorate’s Handball Cluster Initiative Bears Fruit as Yaripora Lifts Championship

Kulgam: The Youth Services & Sports (YSS) Department, Kulgam, successfully concluded the U-17 Boys Handball Tournament, with teams from all six zones of the district participating.
In a remarkable achievement, Handball Cluster Club Yaripora Kulgam emerged as champions, defeating Zone Qaimoh 16–6 in the final. The Yaripora players displayed an impressive combination of skill, teamwork and determination throughout the tournament.
The Handball Cluster Club Yaripora was established under the initiative of the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports, J&K UT, with Head Coach Showkat Ahmad Itoo providing regular morning and evening coaching to the players. The championship victory reflects the hard work of the coach and young athletes.
The players expressed gratitude to the Directorate for establishing the Handball Cluster Club at Yaripora and providing a dedicated platform for nurturing young handball talent. Local residents also appreciated the initiative for promoting sports at the grassroots level.
At the conclusion, officials of Youth Services & Sports, Kulgam, distributed trophies among the participating teams and congratulated the players and coaches.

Kulgam, August 08: The Inter-Zone District Level U-17 Girls Handball Tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports (YSS), Kulgam, concluded today at Sports Stadium Kulgam with an impressive display of talent, determination and sporting spirit.
Players from all six zones of District Kulgam participated in the tournament. The final was played between Zone Kaimoh and Zone Kulgam, with Zone Kulgam emerging victorious and lifting the U-17 Girls Handball Championship title.
The players representing Government High School Banimulla played a crucial role in the team's success and showcased excellent skills, discipline and determination throughout the tournament. Their outstanding performance helped Zone Kulgam secure the championship.
The players dedicated their victory to their Physical Education Teacher, Mr. Irshad Hussain Shah, for his continuous guidance, hard work and dedication towards developing sports among students. Known for his commitment to sports and expertise in various games, Mr. Shah has been playing an important role in nurturing young sporting talent at the grassroots level.
After winning the championship, the players congratulated and thanked their teacher for his valuable guidance and motivation.
