ಬೈಂದೂರು ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಬಿಜೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮನಾವತಿ ನದಿಯ ದಡದ ಅನತಿ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಈ ಕಾರಣಿಕ ದೈವ ಶ್ರೀ ನಂದಿಕೇಶ್ವರನ ಆಲಯ.

ಉಪ್ಪುಂದ ದುರ್ಗಾಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಿ ದೇವಿಯ ಅಣತಿಯಂತೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಭಕ್ತರ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಮೂರು ಬ್ರಹತ್ ಹೆಬ್ಬೆಲಸಿನ ಮರದ ನೆರಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವ ಮುರ್ಗೊಳಿ ಶ್ರೀ ನಂದಿಕೇಶ್ವರ ದೈವಸ್ಥಾನ ಭಕ್ತರ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಎರಡನೇ ಮಾರಣಕಟ್ಟೆ ಎಂದೇ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದಿ ಪಡೆದಿದೆ.

ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಂದಿಕೇಶ್ವರ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ದೈವವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಯಕ್ಷಿ, ಮರ್ಲುಚಿಕ್ಕು, ಶಿಂಗಾರ ಹೈಗುಳಿ, ಗೆಂಡದ ಹೈಗುಳಿ, ಹೊಲದ ಹೈಗುಳಿ, ರಾಹು, ಬೊಬ್ಬರ್ಯ, ಚೌಡೇಶ್ವರಿ, ನಾಗ, ಪಂಜುರ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವು ಪರಿವಾರ ದೈವಗಳ ಸ್ಥಾನವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಇದೊಂದು ಪುರಾತನ ಪ್ರಾಕೃತಿಕ ದೈವಸ್ಥಾನವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ದೈವಗಳು ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಟ್ಟಡವನ್ನು ಬಯಸದೇ ಮೂರು ಹೆಬ್ಬೇಲಸಿನ ಮರದ ನೆರಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆನಿಂತಿರುವುದು ಈ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ವಿಶೇಷ.

ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಆಲಯವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವುದೇ ಆದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಬೆಳಗಾಗುವುದರೊಳಗೆ ಮೂರೂ ಹೆಬ್ಬೆಲಸಿನ ಮರವನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರತೀತಿ ಇದ್ದು, ಇದು ಅಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿರುವ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಈ ದೈವಸ್ಥಾನ ಪ್ರಾಕೃತಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮೂರು ಹೆಬ್ಬೆಲಸಿನ ಮರದ ನೆರಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಈ ದೈವಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಾದಿ ಕಾಲದಿಂದಲೂ ಯಾವುದೇ ಜಾತಿ, ಧರ್ಮದ ತಾರತಮ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲದೇ ನೂರಾರು ಭಕ್ತರು ಬಂದು ಪೂಜಾ ಕೈಂಕರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬೈಂದೂರು ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಭಕ್ತರಲ್ಲದೇ ಮುಂಬೈ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ದೂರದೂರಿನ ಭಕ್ತರು ಬಂದು ತಾವೇ ಸ್ವತಃ ಪೂಜೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಮೃತ್ತಿಕೆಯನ್ನೆ ಮೂಲಪ್ರಸಾದವಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಜನ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಶುಭಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಡೆಸುವುದಿದ್ದರೂ ಮೊದಲು ನಂದಿಕೇಶ್ವರನಿಗೆ ಪೂಜೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ನಂತರ ಶುಭಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುವುದು ಇಲ್ಲಿಯ ವಾಡಿಕೆ.

ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ವಿಶೇಷ ಎಂದರೆ ಶ್ರೀ ನಂದಿಕೇಶ್ವರನು ಜಾನುವಾರು ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಕರುಣೆ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ಭಕ್ತರ ಜಾನುವಾರುಗಳು ಕಾಣೆಯಾದರೆ ಅಥವಾ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ತೊಂದರೆ ತೊಡಕಾದರೆ ನಂದಿಕೇಶ್ವರನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಬಾಳೆಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಗೊನೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಹರಕೆ ಹೊತ್ತು ಪೂಜೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಮಾರನೇ ದಿನವೇ ಕಾಣೆಯಾದ ಜಾನುವಾರು ಮನೆಯ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರತೀತಿ ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಈ ಭಾಗದ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿದೆ.

ಮುಖ್ಯರಸ್ತೆ NH 66 ರಿಂದ ಬಿಜೂರು ಕ್ರೀಡಾಂಗಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇವಲ 5 ನಿಮಿಷ ಕ್ರಮಿಸಿದರೆ ಈ ಕಾರಣಿಕ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವನ್ನು ನೋಡಬಹುದು.

ಪ್ರತೀ ವರ್ಷ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 14, 15 ಮತ್ತು 16ರಂದು ವಾರ್ಷಿಕೋತ್ಸವ, ಏಕಾಹ ಅಖಂಡ ಭಜನಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಹಾಗೂ ಗೆಂಡ ಸೇವೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಮೂರೂ ದಿನ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಅನ್ನಸಂತರ್ಪಣೆಯೂ ಸಹ ಇದ್ದು ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಭಕ್ತರು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿ ಶ್ರೀ ನಂದಿಕೇಶ್ವರ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಪರಿವಾರ ದೈವಗಳ ಪ್ರಸಾದವನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿ ಪಾವನರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.
