Kupwara: Renowned socio-political activist and youth leader, Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, has extended his warmest greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. In his message, Dr. Bhat prayed for the peace, prosperity and happiness of the entire Muslim Ummah, the nation and the people of Kashmir in particular.
Dr. Bhat appealed to the people of Kashmir, especially the residents of Lolab, to celebrate the festive occasion with simplicity and avoid extravagance. He highlighting global economic concerns, Dr. Bhat reminded the public of the Honorable Prime Ministerβs message regarding resource conservation. He urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel to conserve fuel, noting that the ongoing conflict in the Middle East could trigger a global oil and energy crisis.
Furthermore, Dr. Bhat made a heartfelt appeal to the people particularly in Lolab to look after the poors during the festivities. "We must ensure that the poor, widows, orphans and the downtrodden in our neighborhoods are included in our celebrations," he emphasized.
Addressing those performing the ritual sacrifice (Qurbani), Dr. Bhat issued a strong appeal regarding sanitation and civic responsibility. He strictly urged people not to throw animal waste in public spaces.
"Throwing waste in public places diminishes the spiritual value of our sacrifices, which are meant solely to seek the happiness and blessings of Allah. Disregarding cleanliness can instead lead to public hardship and invite Allah's anger and curse," Dr. Bhat stated.
He concluded his message by wishing everyone a blessed, peaceful and safe Eid.
