In a tragic accident of its type, a 22-year-old youth died due to electrocution in Rajwar area in Handwara of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district this morning.
Reports reaching Alfaaz – The Words, said that a youth received a major electric shock while he was repairing a wire at his residence in Dardhaji Rajwar.The youth was soon after evacuated from the site to a nearby hospital, from where doctors referred him to District Hospital Handwara for treatment. The youth however died enroute to the hospital.
The victim has been identified as one Mohammad Saleem Bajard, son of Mohmmad Yousuf Bajard.
Confirming the death of the youth in the incident, Medical Superintendent DH Handwara Dr. Aijaz Ahmad told Alfaaz – The Words, that the individual was brought dead to the hospital.

J&K Govt Increases Pensions for Elderly, Widows, Disabled & Transgender Beneficiaries.

The Jammu and Kashmir government has enhanced pensions under NSAP and ISSS, effective April 1, 2025.

Beneficiaries below 60 years will receive ₹1,250 per month, those aged 60-79 years ₹1,500, and those 80+ years ₹2,000.
