YJAK Condoles Demise of Senior Journalist Aatif Quyoom's Father

Kupwara, November 16: The Young Journalists Association Kupwara (YJAK) extends its deepest condolences on the demise of the father of Aatif Quyoom, correspondent of Rising Kashmir & President of the Media Association Handwara, who passed away after a brief illness.

Ulfat Hussain Malik, President of YJAK, hailed the personality of the deceased and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, particularly to Aatif Quyoom. He prayed for the peace and prosperity of the departed soul.

YJAK holds it's monthly meeting after recently held election

Kupwara August 11: Young Journalists Association Kupwara (YJAK) Monday held its monthly meeting which was presided over by its President Ulfat Hussain Malik.

The meeting was attended by majority of the members.

Ulfat Hussain Malik on the occasion impressed upon all members to work with dedication and in the larger interest of people.

He said that people have high hopes with the YJAK so it was primary duty of every member to rise to the occasion.

He also said that journalists while performing their professional duty must follow the basic ethics of journalism and cooperation with civil administration.

"We all should work for the development of whole District kupwara," he added.

On the occasion Chairman Wasim Majnoon Mir and its Vice President murtaza Mushtaq also shed light on some other important issues.

The main objective of the meet was to bridge the gap between press and public and to aware the Reporters about the role of PRESS for high lighting the grievances of the people,” During the meeting, the participants highlighted their general problems for their immediate redressal.

Mean while it president YJAK assured the participants that their grievances will be forwarded soon to concerned authorities for their redressal. The participants also invited reciprocal reaction of YJAK in dealing the chaotic situations, curbing the so called Press reporters FB Journalists and maintaining the sense of Media Role in general public,

Demands press club in the district, sought cooperation from administration in upholding the dignity and sanctity noble profession journalism.

Kupwara August 11: Young Journalists Association kupwara (YJAK) on Monday met newly joined Deputy Commissioner, kupwara shrikant Balasahib Suse IAS. at his office DC Complex and demanded establishment of a press club in the district besides appraised her about other issues of working journalists in Kupwara.

The delegation of executive body of YJAK representing different print and electronic media organizations was led by its President Ulfat Hussain Malik Chairman YJAK Wasim Majnoon Mir, Vice President Murtaza Mushtaq and other senior journalists who sought cooperation and support from DC Kupwara in upholding the dignity and sanctity noble profession journalism and fourth estate as there is onslaught of social media being handled unethically.

While welcoming the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, President YJAK Ulfat Hussain Malik. reiterating demand of establishment of press club which is the panacea to all the issues pertaining to the media fraternity as land for same was already identified by the administration few yrs ago.

YJAK believes in ethics of journalism. We will always support professional journalists and there is no space for those indulging in blackmailing, extortion and yellow journalism besides some Govt employees posing as journalists should be isolated and identified,” the journalists told DC Kupwara.

While giving patient hearing, DC Kupwara assured the YJAK body that all their genuine demands would be met and concerned will definitely be looked into.

While appreciating the role of media fraternity in highlighting public issues, he urged media fraternity to reach out to the public and ensure that their issues are brought into the notice of the administration for redressal.

Media is significant fourth pillar of democracy and holds an important role in delivery of transparent and accountable governance to the people. All the demands put forth have been taken into consideration and will be seriously looked into so that the issues will be resolved in a time bound manner,” he assured the media persons.
