This week is all about the quiet triumphs.
The ones that rarely make headlines, but speak volumes.
Maybe it’s finally taking that overdue solo walk.
Or saying “no” without guilt.
Or picking up an old passion you’d tucked away.

At Her Circle, we honour these everyday acts of courage and care; the ones that reflect a woman’s strength not in spotlight moments, but in the ones she conquers quietly.

To every woman in our community making space for herself: we see you. We celebrate you.

Drop your everyday wins in the comments; your story might be the encouragement someone else needs to keep going.

Sometimes growth means letting go of what holds us back, the pressure to be perfect, the need to be liked, and the guilt around putting ourselves first.

You don’t have to be low maintenance to be loved. Love begins with accepting yourself fully, resting without apology, and knowing you are enough just as you are. Here is to embracing self-love and growing from a place of kindness every day.

For the first time in Indian civil service history, the Indian Forest Service (IFoS) Association is now led entirely by women at the national level. With around 36 organised civil services associations functioning in India, this move is a first-of-its-kind achievement. and signifies the evolving role of women leaders in Indian governance and public administration.

The elected team includes Anita Karan as President, Monalisa Dash as Secretary General, Dr. Surbhi Rai as Joint Secretary, Suveena Thakur as Treasurer, and Chestha Singh as Literary Secretary. Each of them holds years of experience in forest governance and environmental protection across India. Their appointment marks a significant moment not just for gender representation, but for the visibility of women in one of India’s most critical ecological and administrative services.

IFoS officers are responsible for managing India’s forest reserves, wildlife sanctuaries, biodiversity zones, and environmental policy implementation at both state and national levels. With the service now being the only all-women-led civil body in India, this moment is a reflection of growing inclusivity and recognition of women’s leadership in climate and conservation spaces.

The Union government has announced plans to install AI-based facial recognition systems at seven major railway stations, including Mumbai CST and New Delhi, in an effort to curb crimes against women. This development comes in light of a growing database of over 20.28 lakh registered sexual offenders, recorded in the National Database on Sexual Offenders (NDSO).

The update was shared in response to a public interest litigation filed by the Supreme Court Women Lawyers’ Association, which raised serious concerns over the increasing violence against women. Alongside this move, the government also highlighted the rollout of Safe City Projects in eight cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Lucknow. These projects utilise surveillance cameras, smart lighting, and drone monitoring in high-risk areas.

The Ministry of Home Affairs further reported that 499 major railway stations now operate 24 hours a day under the Integrated Emergency Response Management System (IERMS), and that 740 CCTV cameras have already been installed across 67 stations along the Konkan Railway Network.

However, data paints a worrying picture. Crimes against women rose from 58.8 per lakh in 2018 to 66.4 per lakh in 2022. In the same year, 23.66 lakh cases were pending trial; only 1.5 lakh cases were concluded, and just 38,136 resulted in conviction.

While tech-based interventions are a welcome step, lawyers and activists stress that surveillance alone is not sufficient. Without stronger enforcement, faster trials, and deeper accountability, the justice system risks failing the very women it is meant to protect.

Not every skill fits neatly into a resume. Some of the hardest work women do never gets mentioned in performance reviews or LinkedIn bios. To all the women carrying their own burdens, we see you, we hear you, and we appreciate you!

It is time we start valuing the invisible labour of support, resilience, strength, and leadership that women bring into every space they occupy. If you have ever held things together for others and for yourself, you have already achieved more than you know.

India’s female labour force participation rose from 27.8 percent to 31.7 percent in 2023–24. On the surface, it signals progress. But experts urge caution. According to a Reuters poll, it could take at least two decades for India to catch up with G20 countries and many believe the rise is being driven more by economic distress than meaningful employment.

True inclusion goes beyond numbers. Only 15.9 percent of working women hold salaried jobs with stability and benefits. The majority remain in self-employment or informal roles, often without protections or opportunities to grow. The gap between participation and empowerment is still wide.

Still, the shift is important. Women are stepping into the workforce despite limited support. With the right investment in care infrastructure, safety and workplace rights, this momentum can lead to real change, not just for women, but for the economy as a whole.
