🎭✨ A Journey into the Living Traditions of Pinguli ✨🎨
Our students explored the rich folk heritage of Pinguli, home to the Thakar tribal community and its remarkable storytelling traditions. Through the vibrant art of Chitrakathi, captivating Kalamsootri puppetry, and enchanting Leather Shadow Puppetry, they discovered how stories from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and folk legends have been preserved and passed down through generations.
This enriching experience was brought to life by Mr. Krishna Masge and his team, who shared their knowledge, skills, and passion for these traditional art forms, offering students a rare glimpse into Maharashtra’s living cultural heritage.
Blending painting, music, theatre, puppetry, and storytelling, these art forms are a testament to India’s rich cultural legacy. As many of these traditions face the risk of fading away, understanding, appreciating, and preserving them becomes all the more important.
A memorable journey that connected our learners to the creativity, wisdom, and traditions of the Thakar community. 🌿🎭📜
