Deeply saddened to hear about the untimely demise of Firdous Ahmad Lone, Firdous Medicate brother of Lone Medicate, Handwara, resident of Udipora Qaziabad. His early departure has left the family and the entire community in grief.
May Almighty Allah grant him Jannat-ul-Firdous and bestow Sabr-e-Jameel upon the bereaved family to endure this irreparable loss. (RIP)

It was my pleasure to be part of Pulse Polio Day — *Do Boond Zindagi Kay.*

Today, Pulse Polio Day was observed nationwide. I extend a warm salute and heartfelt appreciation to all doctors, paramedical staff, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, teachers, and everyone who contributed selflessly, especially in this chilling weather.

On this occasion, I visited various vaccination centres, with special focus on NTPHC Unisoo Langate, and witnessed the dedication and commitment of the field staff in ensuring the success of this vital public health drive.

AIP Leader Flags Rising Deaths of PDD Workers, Seeks Safety and Compensation

AIP senior leader and former BDC Chairman Langate, Showkat Hassan Pandit, has expressed deep concern over the rising deaths of PDD employees and daily wagers.

In a statement, he said the repeated loss of lives due to electrocution reflects a serious failure in safety systems. He urged the government to take immediate and strong action to prevent such tragedies. He stressed that workers risk their lives every day and deserve full protection while on duty.

Pandit said that in the past few days alone, three PDD workers died due to electrocution while repairing live wires. He demanded strict safety training, proper tools, and quality protective gear for all employees working on power lines.

He said most of the victims are daily wagers who work in risky conditions for low wages. He called for a clear and strong policy to secure their jobs and protect their lives.

Recalling a recent case from Handwara, Pandit said a PDD worker was electrocuted and died, leaving his family without any source of income. He said similar cases continue to surface across the region, where families are pushed into helplessness after losing the sole earning member.

He demanded timely and fair compensation for all affected families and said the government must take moral and legal responsibility for these deaths.
