Nautor rules consultation extended by 30 days, comments invited till Nov 1

LEH: The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh, on the directions of Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, has extended the period for submitting comments and suggestions on the Draft Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Councils (Nautor Regularisation) Rules, 2026, by another 30 days.
The extended consultation period will now remain open until November 1, 2026, giving stakeholders more time to review the draft Rules and submit their views and suggestions.

From barren land to saffron fields: New agricultural experiment in Ladakh

LEH: A tract of land in Leh that remained barren until three months ago is set to produce saffron for the first time in Ladakh.
Following the success of Lilium cultivation in Ladakh, Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has undertaken another agricultural diversification initiative by introducing saffron cultivation in the cold desert region.

LEH: Ladakh took a major step towards developing commercial floriculture as a new avenue for sustainable livelihoods with the dispatch of the first air consignment of Ladakh-grown Lilium flowers to national flower markets. Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on September 29 flagged off the first consignment of 15,000 “A-grade” Lilium stems at KBR Airport, Leh, marking a significant initiative towards creating new economic opportunities and promoting entrepreneurship in Ladakh.

Leh Police recover stolen jewellery worth ₹70 lakh, arrest key accused

LEH: Leh Police solved a well-planned theft at a jewellery shop in Nowshar Gali, Leh, within three days of receiving the complaint. The alleged key accused was arrested, and stolen jewellery worth approximately ₹70 lakh along with ₹4.30 lakh in cash was recovered, police said.
