ग्रंथियों के आधार पर महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य
पीयूष ग्रंथि (Pituitary Gland):
यह मस्तिष्क के आधार (Sella Turcica) में स्थित होती है.
यह वृद्धि हार्मोन (GH) का स्राव करती है जो शरीर की लंबाई नियंत्रित करता है.
ADH (वेसोप्रेसिन) हार्मोन पेशाब की मात्रा को नियंत्रित करता है.
थायरॉयड और पैराथायरॉयड:
थायरॉयड ग्रंथि गले में स्थित होती है और थायरोक्सिन स्रावित करती है.
पैराथायरॉयड हड्डियाँ और दांतों के लिए आवश्यक कैल्शियम को बनाए रखती है.
अधिवृक्क ग्रंथि (Adrenal Gland):
यह किडनी के ऊपर स्थित होती है.
तनाव के समय कोर्टिसोल हार्मोन जारी करती है.
अग्न्याशय (Pancreas):
इसकी 'लैंगरहैंस की द्वीपिकाओं' (Islets of Langerhans) की बीटा कोशिकाओं से इंसुलिन निकलता है.
अल्फा कोशिकाओं से ग्लूकागन निकलता है जो रक्त शर्करा बढ़ाता है.
अन्य प्रमुख प्रश्न:
थाइमस ग्रंथि: बुढ़ापे में लुप्त हो जाती है और प्रतिरक्षा प्रणाली (T-cells) के लिए जिम्मेदार है.
हाइपोथैलेमस: इसे 'ग्रंथियों का मास्टर' कहा जाता है क्योंकि यह पीयूष ग्रंथि को नियंत्रित करता है.
