Onion Fritters with Green Chutney — a classic Indian snack combo that’s crispy, spicy, and utterly satisfying!
🧅 Onion Fritters (Pyaaz ke Pakode)
Ingredients:
2 large onions (thinly sliced)
1 cup besan (gram flour)
2 tbsp rice flour (optional, for extra crispiness)
2 green chilies (finely chopped)
1 tsp ajwain (carom seeds)
1 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp turmeric
Salt to taste
A handful of chopped coriander leaves
Water (as needed)
Oil (for deep frying)
Instructions:
1. Mix veggies & spices: In a large bowl, add sliced onions, green chilies, coriander, ajwain, turmeric, red chili, and salt. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes so the onions release water.
2. Add flours: Now add besan and rice flour. Mix until the onions are well coated. Add very little water only if needed — the mixture should be thick and sticky.
3. Fry: Heat oil in a deep pan. Drop small portions of the mixture (roughly shaped) into the hot oil. Fry on medium flame until golden and crispy.
4. Drain on paper towels.
