En Thambi (1968) is a Tamil-language drama film directed by A. C. Tirulokchandar, featuring Sivaji Ganesan and B. Saroja Devi in the lead roles. The film is a remake of the 1966 Telugu film Aastiparulu. Produced by K. Balaji under the Sujatha Cine Arts banner, it became a commercial success, running for over 100 days in theatres.

🎭 Plot Summary
The story revolves around Sundara Boopathy, a wealthy and respected landlord. After his first wife’s death, he marries Alangaram, with whom he has a son named Viswam. From his first marriage, he has another son, Kannan, who is kind-hearted and manages the family estate. Viswam, however, is a spoiled and irresponsible character. After their father’s death, Viswam schemes to eliminate Kannan and claim the family wealth. He attempts to drown Kannan, but a passing theatre troupe rescues him. Kannan joins the troupe, becomes an actor, and later returns to confront his brother and reclaim his rightful place. The film explores themes of family loyalty, deception, and justice.
