Traditionally, after death in our Dimasa community, the body is bathed,dressed in fresh clothes and placed on a bamboo mat which we call ‘yam ‘ , inside the house before the funeral rites begin . The deceased is cremated with the mat itself.
Death is not the opposite of life but a part of it !

I went out in the rain yesterday, cooked food in the Jhum, in the rain . Ate wholesome food while everyone expected us to have dampened spirits. It's worth doing things people advise you not to. It's the act of not knowing that triggers most of my actions.
