To train the students of chemistry in proper usage of chemical in order to avoid any major safety related accidents , Mangalore University chemistry alumni (MUCA) organised a Half day workshop on "Safe handing of chemicals " to the present M.Sc students of chemistry Dept of Mangalore university, Konaje. Sri Sanjay Kumar Vaishnav ,Assoc. Vice-President SeQuent Scientific Ltd, Mangalore was the chief guest on the occasion while addressing the audience he stressed upon the need of such training while handling the chemicals and appreciated the association for such initiatives. The Training was imparted by Sri Jagadish Bhat, Dy.Manager- EHS Department, SeQuent Scientific Ltd, Mangalore , He explained the need of carer while handling chemicals with various case studies and practical session . He stressed upon the various safety measures to be taken while handling of chemical in any chemical laboratories. and also urged the students to inculate the saftey in day to day life and also advised to make th "safety a habit" . "many a times we neglect a simple saftey procedures with our carelessness , this workshop gave us an importance of safety measures to be taken care in our chemical laboraorties - says a student who attended the training . Prof . Vishalakshi , Chairperson of the Dept briefed about the association and its activities and also the need of such training for the students , Prof Boja Poojary- Treasurer of MUCA welcomed the gathering and Dr.K. V Udupa - Vice President of MUCA proposed the vote of thanks
