The oldest of its kind in India, A19 is the three-day annual media event of Manipal Institute of Com Freedom. Your right.

For the last 17 years, through various workshops, debates, discussions and screenings, we have tried to live up to the tagline of our festival, Freedom - Your Right. The event is scheduled to be held in February 2017. Bridging the gap between industry and academia, over the years, Article-19 has hosted the best minds in the media including P. Sainath, Stalin K, Prahlad Kakkar and Rahul Bose. Stud

ents of media from across the country compete for awards in various categories like film, advertising, journalism, documentary, radio etc. To strike a balance between lectures and leisure, A19 - as the fest is popularly called - will also host a Nano film festival and an evening of entertainment and Fun fair. The festival derives its name from the Right to Freedom of Expression, enshrined in the 19th Article of the Indian Constitution.

The second and final day of Article-19 witnessed three engaging sessions with three incredible guests-- Dr Trinetra (), Vinamre Kasanaa (), and Rohit Raghvendra () 🌟

The event also included several competitions such as Future Representatives of Democracy, Ready, Set, Quiz, and Wrecked🏆

The A-19 funfair, an MIC tradition, was a fabulous end to the event.💛

Rewind to the successful Day 1 of Article-19 2024, Edition 2! ⏮️🎤🚀

Day 1 of Article 19 was a whirlwind of insights and inspiration! 🎤 We kicked off with our keynote speaker, Manish Desai’s compelling talk on the evolving media landscape and the critical role of technology in shaping the future of journalism. Next, we had an entertaining session with Thajmola, who shared his journey to fame with his relatable, comedic content. Wrapping up the day, Naina Sareen gave us an eye-opening glimpse into the reality behind the glamour of the film industry. Alongside, we had thrilling competitions like JAM, Mick Newsroom, Turncoat, Hardsell and Scavenger Hunt. Can’t wait for what Day 2 has in store! 👾🪐

Our core committee brainstormed relentlessly for days to try to come up with a theme that is powerful, creative and relevant. After a lot of coffee runs and staring into void to seek answers, we decided to explore the idea of a Utopia, and how AI can help us reach it.

It definitely fostered a lot of discussion within the team, with everyone critically thinking about the different aspects of what the future might hold. We hope it makes you think as well, we hope it starts conversations, and we hope we see things with new perspectives.
