The Kamhua Noknu Students Union (KNSU) has successfully held its inaugural "Annual Meet-Cum-Youth Festival 2025," showcasing a vibrant celebration of both knowledge and the rich cultural heritage of Kamhua Noknu. Under the dedicated leadership of Sh. Langwang Losu, President of KNSU, and Sh. Mantai Losu, General Secretary of KNSU, the festival aimed to facilitate the social upliftment of the Noknu community, ensuring thorough ex*****on of the event. The program was structured around five houses: Denkoi House, Khoichai House, Lekey House, Ngakaan House, and Youth House.
The event spanned four exciting days, each filled with a diverse range of activities catering to various interests:
Day 1: Opening Ceremony
The festivities commenced with an opening ceremony featuring Sh. Lohpong Wangham, Zila Parishad Chairperson of Longding District, as the Chief Guest, and Sh. Kumman Thungwa, APCS CO Pongchau, an esteemed, serving as the Guest of Honour. The ceremony set a festive tone with traditional performances, followed by engaging games and sports activities designed to foster camaraderie among participants.
Day 2: Literary Events
The second day focused on intellectual engagement with various literary competitions, including a Quiz Competition, Extempore Speech, Debate, Essay Writing Competition, and Drawing Competition. These events encouraged creativity and critical thinking among the youth, showcasing their talents and promoting a spirit of healthy competition.
Day 3: Games and Sports Day
The third day was dedicated to physical activities, featuring popular sports such as football and volleyball, alongside athletic events like the high jump and long jump. The cultural evening was highlighted by Sh. Haiwang Losu, Gram Panchayat Chairperson of Kamhua Noknu, as the Chief Guest, with Sh. Tonwang Wangham, President of Kamhua Youth Association, serves as the Guest of Honour. Smti Nyolai Pansa added a special touch as a Special Guest, enriching the evening with cultural performances that celebrated the community's heritage.
Day 4: Valedictory Program
The festival culminated in a Valedictory Program, with Sh. Nokphe Pansa, President of Longding District Students Union, acted as the Chief Guest. Sh. Shahlai Wangsu, Co-Auditor of AAPSU, honoured the event as the Guest of Honour. The closing ceremony featured a highly anticipated Celebrity Night, with Adv. Mannai Wangsu, General Secretary of LDSU, is serving as the Chief Guest. Sh. Pankai Chingsaham, founder of KNSU, was the Guest of Honour, and the evening was further enlivened by performances from renowned Wancho artist Sh. Nawai Wangsu and the captivating Nokpang Joham.
KNSU extends heartfelt gratitude to all the Chief Guests and Guests of Honour for their swift acceptance of the invitations, which significantly contributed to the festival's success and celebrated the spirit of Kamhua Noknu.
