APCC Submits Memorandum to Hon’ble Governor Seeking Urgent Intervention Against Unlawful Directive by some groups giving threatening concerning forthcoming Panchayat Elections'2025.

The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) led a delegation by it's President Shri Bosiram Siram today called on His Excellency the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh at Raj Bhawan, Itanagar, and submitted a memorandum seeking immediate intervention against an unlawful directive allegedly issued by some group attempting to interfere in the forthcoming Panchayati Raj elections in Longding District and adjoining Tirap and Changlang Districts as well.
The APCC President was accompanied by Shri Techi Tagi Tara, Working President; Shri Chera Taya, General Secretary cm Spokesperson and Shri Kon Jirjo Jotham, General Secretary cm Spokesperson and Chairman of Media & Social Media Department, APCC.
The memorandum apprised the Hon’ble Governor that some group has reportedly issued threats directing village leaders and the general public to support only the ZPM candidates of the BJP, warning that any candidate or voter defying the order will be penalized with a fine of ₹20,00,000 or face dire consequences.
Such coercive and unlawful intimidation poses a grave threat to democracy, peace, and free and fair elections in the region. The APCC urged the Hon’ble Governor to take swift and decisive action by directing the State Government and law enforcement authorities to ensure the safety of candidates and voters, and to prevent any non-state actors from undermining the electoral process.
The same memorandum also has been submitted to the Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, State Election Commissioner, GoAP, and Director General of Police, APP, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh appraising them of the serious situation and urging coordinated administrative and security measures to safeguard the sanctity of the Panchayati Raj elections and ensure free and fair election, and ensure Democratic process of Election in the ensuing Panchayati Raj Elections in entire Tirap, Changlang and Longding Districts.
Shri Bosiram Siram stated that, no force either from external or from internal should be allowed to intimidate the people or dictate the democratic will of the citizens. The Congress Party stands firmly for the protection of democracy, peace, and the rule of law in Arunachal Pradesh
The APCC has further appealed to all democratic forces, civil society organisations, and peace-loving citizens of the State to remain vigilant and united against any attempt to disrupt the constitutional and democratic rights of the people.
His Excellency the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh has given a patient hearing on the appraisal of the APCC President Shri Bosiram Siram. His Excellency the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh has elaborately shared his experiences and understanding of the ground zero situation and reality of the TCL Districts and assured to address the points mentioned in the Memorandum. Very impressively the Governor shared his opinions and requested for the cooperation from all political leaders and publics on the issue faced by the people of TCL areas. He assured to discuss the matter as mentioned in the memorandum with the Hon'ble Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and Director General of Police, APP, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh.
The APCC President expressed his satisfaction to His Excellency the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh for his warm welcome and impressive response with an assurance to look into the matter personally and thanked him on behalf of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee.
