Sharnappa Makapur (alias Raju, Facebook ID: Raaj Mak) was arrested by Vasco Police for posting derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad on Facebook. The accused intentionally outraged religious sentiments of the Muslim community, prompting a large public gathering at the police station. An offence has been registered under Sections 299, 302, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The community demanded strict action and thanked the police for their swift response.
