MORMUGAO PORT AUTHORITY (MPA) CELEBRATES 79TH INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH PATRIOTIC ZEAL
MPA Chairperson highlights key Achievements and future Vision for Mormugao Port in inspiring adress
Vasco da Gama, Goa | Aug 15, 2025: Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at its Headquarters
at Headland Sada, Vasco da Gama (Goa), today. The grand ceremony was marked by
the cultural performances by students, combat presentations by CISF commandoes, and inspiring speech by the MPA Chairperson.
The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Hon’ble Chairperson of MPA, Dr. N. Vinodkumar, IPoS, followed by a ceremonial guard of honour presented to him by the CISF personnel, symbolizing respect and reverence for the nation's spirit.
In his Independence Day address, MPA Chairperson, Dr. N. Vinodkumar highlighted
the significant achievements of Mormugao Port in recent times. He emphasized key
milestones including: Major strides in infrastructure development, Progress under the Port Monetization Projects, Initiatives towards solar power generation, port connectivity, and upcoming initiatives by the Port Administration.
The Chairperson also expressed heartfelt gratitude to all MPA officials and staff, the
CISF, the Indian Coast Guard, port's stakeholders like PPP operators, Stevedores,
lessees and their hierarchy and ancillary departments for their unwavering support and
contribution towards the growth and transformation of the Port.
As part of the ceremony, students of MPA-run Primary, Secondary & Higher Secondary
Schools showcased vibrant cultural performances, celebrating India’s rich heritage,
while CISF personnel captivated the audience with dynamic combat drill and marshal
art presentations, reflecting discipline and preparedness to protect the nation.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from MPA officials and staff, pensioners,
CISF personnel, teachers and students of MPA schools, and other stakeholders. The
atmosphere was filled with pride and patriotism, with attendees commending the well- organised ceremony and spirited performances.
