Three Booked for Construction Material Theft in Porvorim

Laxmi Chavan (27), Dyamawa Lamani (39), and Guranna Chauhan (20) have been booked for stealing construction materials worth ₹30,000 from a site near Zudio showroom in Porvorim. The trio allegedly loaded rods, centering plates, and plastic drums into a goods carrier. FIR has been registered under BNS, and all three have been served notices under Section 35 BNSS.

Woman Duped of ₹2.31 Lakh in Online Job Scam

A woman from Zuarinagar was allegedly cheated of ₹2.31 lakh after being lured into a fake work-from-home job via WhatsApp and Telegram. The fraudsters promised hotel rating tasks and added her to a group named “Merchant Welfare Task,” eventually convincing her to transfer money to multiple accounts. Verna Police have registered an FIR under BNS and IT Act provisions. Investigation is underway.

G***a Worth ₹86,800 Seized in Arambol

Mandrem Police arrested Manish Rathore (33) for possessing 868 grams of g***a during a narcotics raid near Garden of Dreams Restaurant in Arambol on July 18. The contraband, valued at ₹86,800, along with an Activa scooter, was seized. An FIR has been registered under the NDPS Act.

Serial House Thief Nabbed in Arpora Theft Case

Anjuna Police have booked a house theft case after a MacBook and car keys were stolen from a residence in Arpora. Accused Madirikarri Vikky alias Shaik Shamir (20), already in custody in a previous case, will now be formally arrested in this fresh FIR. Police recovered a MacBook, iPhone 14, and two other smartphones worth ₹3 lakh. The accused is linked to multiple theft cases in Andhra Pradesh.

Youth Di*es, Four Injured in Goa Velha Crash

A 22-year-old man, Aditya Tilve from Navelim, di*ed after his Renault Captur car crashed into an Innova Crysta and a motorcycle at Goa Velha flyover late Friday night. The accident, reportedly caused by rash driving, left four others injured—two car occupants and a couple on the bike. All injured are undergoing treatment at GMC Bambolim. Agacaim Police have registered a case.
