My Confession
Depression is not a joke .......
At first you don’t understand what’s happening. Time slips by and life feels meaningless. You want to cry but don’t know why. Your appetite and energy fade, and talking to people feels impossible. You can’t focus at work. There’s a heavy weight on your chest and sometimes it’s hard to breathe. You want to scream. You want to sit alone all day... no makeup, no combing your hair, no bath. You stop loving yourself. Sleep comes fitfully; in half-dreams you see an unclear shadow hugging you and it feels painless. It’s the worst feeling. Depression is not a joke it can feel like a slow death, and living with that pain is unbearable. This is my confession. I was a victim, and there is no shame in that. I didn’t give up. I fought, and I will keep fighting.
