PMKVY Audit: Modi’s Biggest Fail?
India’s flagship skill development scheme PMKVY (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana) is under fire after a shocking CAG audit report exposed massive gaps in implementation. The audit flags low placement rates, underutilised funds, fake or ineligible training agencies, weak data systems and poor monitoring under PMKVY from 2015–2022. Only around 41% of trained candidates were actually placed, and in PMKVY 3.0 placements were as low as 7–8% in some phases, with large chunks of funds lying unspent and serious data quality issues in the Skill India portal.
In this video, we break down the PMKVY audit report, explain how the CAG has exposed the underbelly of India’s skill scheme, and why many are calling this PM Modi ji’s biggest policy failure in the skilling sector. We look at fake placement claims, biometric attendance violations, financial irregularities, misaligned job roles and weak beneficiary verification, and what this means for crores of youth who were promised jobs and skills under Skill India. Watch till the end for a clear, no-nonsense breakdown and tell us in the comments: Is PMKVY a success on paper but a fail on ground?
