At 88 years of age, when most people choose a life of rest, Shri Inderjit Singh Sidhu continues to exemplify the spirit of selfless service.
Heartiest congratulations to Shri Inderjit Singh Sidhu, a resident of the IAS–IPS Society, Sector 49, Mohali, on being conferred the prestigious Padma Shri Award, one of India's highest civilian honours.
A distinguished 1964-batch officer and retired DIG of Punjab Police, Shri Sidhu has demonstrated that true greatness lies not in the positions one holds, but in the positive impact one leaves on society. Long after retirement, he dedicated himself to the cause of cleanliness and civic responsibility, inspiring citizens through action rather than words.
Popularly known as the "Broom Warrior," he transformed a simple broom into a symbol of public awareness and community participation. His humility, discipline, and unwavering commitment to public welfare have earned him admiration across Punjab and the nation.
This Padma Shri is a fitting tribute to a lifetime devoted to duty, integrity, and service. His journey reminds us that meaningful change begins with individual responsibility and that age is no barrier to serving society.
