Anushka Sharma (born 1 May 1988 in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh; raised in Bangalore) is a prominent Indian actress, producer, and former model who rose to fame with her debut Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008) starring Shah Rukh Khan . Initially the child of an army officer, she studied at Mount Carmel College and began modeling in 2007, before relocating to Mumbai to pursue acting full‑time .
Renowned for her energetic and charismatic presence, Anushka delivered breakthrough performances in Band Baaja Baaraat (2010), Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012), and became a box-office powerhouse with PK (2014) and Sultan (2016) .
