Police registered a murder case after the post-mortem showed she was assaulted with a blunt object. The two were reportedly close friends, and her family had recently arranged her marriage. She had told them she was going to watch a movie but never returned.

In Maharashtra’s Nanded, a 20-year-old man, Saksham Tate, was brutally attacked, shot, and his head crushed with a stone by his girlfriend Aanchal’s family. The couple’s three-year relationship had faced opposition from Aanchal’s family due to caste differences.

Despite threats, Aanchal continued the relationship. When her family learned she intended to marry Tate, they assaulted him fatally.

At Tate’s funeral, Aanchal applied vermillion on her forehead, performed wedding rites on his body, and vowed to live in his house as his wife. She stated, “Our love won, even in Saksham’s death,” and demanded the death penalty for the killers.
