Joyalukkas and Kalyan Jewellers Win Tamil Nadu Government Gold Ring Scheme Contract

Joyalukkas and Kalyan Jewellers have been awarded work orders by the Government of Tamil Nadu in a 70:30 ratio for supplying 1,28,499 one-gram gold rings under the state’s “Thai Maman Thanga Mothiram Thittam”. Joyalukkas emerged as the lowest bidder in the tender by quoting just ₹0.01 per ring towards making charges and other additional costs, excluding the price of gold, while Kalyan Jewellers subsequently agreed to match the same price. The initial government order covers the first four months of the scheme, while the larger programme envisages 4,41,667 one-gram gold rings.

"Thai Maman Thanga Mothiram Thittam”, is a welfare initiative under which one-gram gold rings will be provided to eligible babies born in Government hospitals.
