In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Vaani Kapoor spoke candidly about her journey in the film industry as an outsider. Reflecting on her debut in Shuddh Desi Romance (2013), where she starred alongside Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra, Vaani highlighted the crucial role of self-motivation when one lacks industry connections.
"You really have to be your own biggest cheerleader in this industry, especially if you're an outsider without a support system," she shared. "We don’t have uncles, aunts, or extended family members in the industry rooting for us. Plus, I’m not great at networking."
She expressed gratitude toward Yash Raj Films (YRF), the studio that launched her career, crediting them for their unwavering belief and support. "Yash Raj Films, the people who discovered me, truly believed in me. They've been like family. Any actor who signs with them will agree—you feel protected, like you’re in safe hands," she added.
