7 June 2026 | Ground Report from V.N. Desai Hospital, Santacruz East

After receiving information from citizens, F3 news team visited the emergency department of V.N. Desai Hospital. A long queue of patients was waiting for treatment, while only one doctor appeared to be attending emergencies at that time.

Relatives of some patients claimed that due to the X-ray machine being unavailable, suspected fracture cases were being referred elsewhere. There were also complaints regarding the availability of medicines.

If these concerns are accurate, several questions arise:

1) Why was only one doctor handling emergency patients during a busy period?
2) Was the X-ray facility temporarily unavailable, and if so, what alternative arrangements were made?
3) Were all essential emergency medicines available for patients?
4) With crores of rupees allocated to public healthcare, are economically weaker citizens receiving timely and adequate treatment?

Healthcare is not a privilege—it is a basic necessity. Citizens deserve clear answers and effective public services.
