Gulab Jamun meets Filo Pastry! ❤️ A sweet little twist

I wanted to make something a little different for my guests this time! So I took crisp, delicate filo pastry, added fresh gulab jamun, and finished it with strawberry condensed milk. 🍓✨

A little Indian, a little indulgent, and a whole lot of fun!
It was such a joy watching everyone discover the flavours and the surprise in every bite. Because for me, cooking is always about making people happy and creating something memorable for family and friends.

My extended family is visiting us in Seattle, and today I wanted to welcome everyone with a table full of starters made with love. ❤️

I arranged every little treat carefully, and seeing my husband Sanjay standing beside me so proudly made the moment even more special.

While our Salt Chef Padmaja was filming, the whole family gathered around and was genuinely surprised by the spread and the little twists I had added to the dishes.

And this is just the beginning… lunch is still coming, and we also have birthday celebrations lined up! 🎉

For me, cooking is not about perfection. It is about bringing people together, creating memories, and sharing happiness through food.

From my Seattle kitchen to your home, this is my moment. 💛

My kind of perfect day.

Nothing brings my family together quite like my signature Andhra style mirchi and onion bajiyas. Even in Hong Kong, the aroma of fresh bajiyas frying in the kitchen instantly feels like home.

As the rain pours outside, we gather indoors with hot, crispy bajiyas, a cup of chai, and endless conversations. Yes, I let the extra oil drain away for a little less guilt, but never the love that goes into every batch. These are the moments that remind me that the best recipes are made with family, laughter, and togetherness.

He surprised us in Hong Kong. I welcomed him with Millet Bisi Bele Huli.

My son Hanumantha Rao surprised both of us with an unexpected visit to Hong Kong. The hugs were priceless, but as a mother, I had another healthy surprise waiting for him. A steaming bowl of healthy millet Bisi Bele Huli made with love.

Seeing him enjoy every spoonful reminded me that the best welcome home is always a home cooked meal.

And once lunch was over, our family ritual continued just the way it always has. The three of us gathered around for a game of cards, sharing laughter, stories, and precious moments together.

Love is not just spoken in our family. We cook it, serve it, and live it.
