The film stars Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani as Kabir Singh, a self-destructive surgeon, and Preeti, a medical student who falls in love with him. The film is a loose remake of the 2017 Telugu film Arjun Reddy, which also stars Kapoor.

Kabir Singh was a critical and commercial success, grossing over ₹375 crore worldwide. The film's soundtrack was also very popular, with the song "Bekhayali" becoming a chartbuster. However, the film was also criticized for its portrayal of toxic masculinity and its glorification of unhealthy relationships.
