A heartbreaking incident from Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh, has left people shaken after the body of a newborn was found at the Sethani Ghat.

But beyond this tragic discovery lies a much bigger concern. According to NCRB data cited in reports, Madhya Pradesh has recorded the highest number of cases of newborn abandonment in India, with around 140–146 cases reported annually.

Every such case raises difficult questions about child safety, social support and the circumstances that push vulnerable families toward abandoning newborns.

This is more than just a statistic—it’s a reminder that prevention, awareness and stronger support systems are urgently needed.

In 2009, the Solapur Chaddar received a GI tag, recognizing it as a unique product of the Solapur region and helping preserve this traditional craft.

Entire villages are underwater as Assam battles relentless floods🚨

60+ lives lost. 7 lakh people displaced. Nearly 900 villages submerged. Close to 3 lakh people now living in relief camps. Days of relentless monsoon rain pushed the Brahmaputra, one of Asia's largest rivers, well past danger levels.

Rescue teams are working non-stop, wading through neck-deep water to pull out families, livestock, whatever's left. The state government has deployed helicopters to airdrop food and relief supplies to villages that are completely cut off.
