Legendary Indian playback singer Asha Bhosle has passed away at the age of 92 in Mumbai on April 12, 2026.
She was hospitalized shortly before her death due to health complications including chest infection and multi-organ failure.
Asha Bhosle’s career spanned over eight decades, during which she recorded thousands of songs across multiple languages, making her one of the most influential voices in Indian music history.
She received some of India’s highest honors, including the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Padma Vibhushan, and was even recognized by Guinness World Records as one of the most recorded artists ever.
