Peddi Review: All hype, zero heart ⭐⭐ (2/5)
Peddi feels like it’s trying way too hard to crown its hero instead of telling a real story.
It had everything going for it a raw setting packed with caste struggles, tribal roots, and deep-rooted injustice but keeps shoving those heavy themes into the backseat so it can obsess over making look like a god. The guy wins at cricket, wrestling, racing… you name it. There’s zero challenge, zero suspense, and honestly, zero reason to care.
gets the worst deal. Her character is barely sketched out and mostly exists for eye candy. The so-called love story feels awkward and shoved in, with some moments around consent that land as seriously old-school and uncomfortable.
The whole script drowns in over-the-top drama, drags on forever, and slowly forgets what it was trying to say. What starts as a promising sports film with social weight turns into a nonstop highlight reel for the hero, complete with silly twists and forced tears.
Ram Charan’s charisma is the only real pull here, but the movie’s desperate need to make him superhuman kills any depth or impact the bigger message could have had.
Final word: Big letdown. So much potential, barely any payoff.
