We’ve moved from “what users click on” to “what models say.”
And that changes everything.
Most AI visibility tools today rely on synthetic querying — repeatedly prompting LLMs and tracking brand mentions across responses.
Useful? Yes.
Real analytics? Not exactly.
The important distinction:
AI visibility ≠ reach, demand, or performance.
So, are these tools useless?
Not really. But they need to be used differently.
