Rocky Dennis was a boy born with a rare bone disorder that affected the growth of his skull and facial bones. Because of this condition, his face looked very different from other children.
When he was young, doctors gave his mother, Florence Dennis, very sad news. They said Rocky might face many health problems and may not live beyond the age of seven. This was very painful for his family.
But Rocky did not give up. As he grew older, he continued living his life with courage. He went to school like other children and tried to enjoy normal daily life. He made friends who accepted him for who he was, not how he looked.
Even with many challenges, Rocky stayed positive. He showed strength by learning, socializing, and not letting his condition stop him from living. His life became a symbol of bravery and hope, as he lived longer than doctors had expected.
Sadly, Rocky passed away in 1978 at the age of 16. His life was short, but it left a deep impact on everyone who knew his story.
Years later, his life inspired the 1985 Hollywood film Mask. The movie starred Eric Stoltz as Rocky and Cher as his mother. It showed his struggles and his courage, and helped people around the world understand his inspiring journey.
