Design Highlight | Facade
Kian Residence, Bengaluru, Karnataka

The façade is defined by a carefully crafted stone screen that responds to the challenges of a west-facing site. Designed to reduce heat gain and glare, it filters sunlight while maintaining a visual connection to the street.
Its porous quality allows light and air to pass through, creating shifting patterns throughout the day. Beyond performance, the screen establishes a strong identity for the home—balancing privacy, openness, and climate responsiveness—while seamlessly connecting the exterior character with the interior experience.

Design Highlight | Transitional Courtyard
House of Quiet Discoveries, Pune, Maharashtra

The Transitional Courtyard acts as a secondary entry, extending seamlessly from the living space. Fully openable doors create a diagonal connection across the house, enhancing both movement and natural growth for the surrounding greens.

A subtle level difference introduces a more intimate, human scale, while maintaining visual continuity between spaces. Stone cladding binds these levels together, anchoring the composition.

The living volume is intentionally lowered, revealing shifting heights as you move through split levels. This creates a playful spatial experience where connections across levels, framed views, and moments of pause bring the house to life.

Design Highlight | Courtyard
Kaavu, Thrissur, Keralam

The primary requirement from the client was simple yet profound: no matter where one sits in the house, they must have a view of the green, lush courtyard. Because the client’s family is spiritually rooted, the pooja space was given a position of high importance within the central courtyard. This area reflects the “Kaavu” or sacred grove concept most literally, surrounded by thick plantation and a serene water body. This layout ensures that the family remains connected to the seasons and the time of day. The courtyard isn’t just a visual element; it is a functional lung that facilitates natural cooling and provides a spiritual center for the daily activities of the household.

Kaavu, Thrissur, Keralam

Architecture meets the ancestral in Kaavu, a tropical retreat in Thrissur. Guided by the philosophy of rawness and connection to nature, this residence avoids the artificial, celebrating the raw beauty of natural materials and open volumes. The heart of the home is a living mango tree, a symbol of continuity that dictates the spatial flow from the traditional Padippura to the internal courtyards. Every view is a framed landscape, where handmade Athangudi floors and golden sunset light create a meditative atmosphere. Kaavu is not just a dwelling; it is a sacred space where heritage and modern fluidity coexist in perfect harmony.

Design Highlight | Ceiling Design
The Courtyard House, Bengaluru, Karnataka

One of the rooms was marked by a deep beam cutting across its span, a constraint that threatened to lower the ceiling height if concealed conventionally. Instead of suppressing it with a false ceiling, the design responds with a sculpted wave ceiling that flows around the beam, transforming a limitation into a feature while preserving the room’s full vertical volume.
