Filmography:
In 2015, as the Producer of a blockbuster Regional film ‘Chhello Divas’, SP Cinecorp changed the scenario of urban Gujarati film industry with its fresh and unique script. The film created a box office record of INR 20 Cr which was a record at the time in the Gujarati Film Industry. The success of this trend setting movie became the foundation of SP Cinecorp.
Later on, in 2016, It became the Producer of a critically acclaimed political drama ‘Buddha in a Traffic Jam’. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, it was the Company’s first association with a Bollywood film. The movie made news for its powerful subject and an open discussion of academic dominance of an intellectual class cut off from realities of the Indian society.
After Buddha in a Traffic Jam, in 2017, SP Cinecorp associated as associate producer of a family entertainer ‘Sweetie weds NRI’.
Going further SP Cinecorp produced and released a political thriller Bollywood Film which is about the mysterious death of India’s 2nd Prime Minister, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastriji, titled ‘The Tashkent Files’ with a stellar cast such as Mithun Chakraborty, Naseeruddin Shah, Shweta Basu Prasad etc., with Vivek Agnihotri as director.
With recent successes and assured future ahead, the venture’s founder Sharad Patel envisions SP Cinecorp Cinematic Venture Ltd as an entertainment conglomerate of the future.
