Chinese authorities used artificial intelligence to digitally swap a male actor’s face with a woman’s in the film Together, changing its same-sex wedding scene.

Moviegoers condemned the move as censorship, arguing it distorts the filmmaker’s intent. Online critics called AI face-swapping “unacceptable” and an attack on artistic integrity.

The controversy has reignited debates over LGBTQ+ representation, censorship, and AI misuse in global cinema, highlighting tensions between creative freedom and state control.

Following the introduction of a new $100,000 H-1B visa fee, the White House has indicated that doctors and medical residents may be among those exempted. The fee, which applies to new H-1B petitions filed on or after September 21, 2025, has drawn concern from hospitals and medical groups who fear it will exacerbate staff shortages, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
