NFDC has produced and financed more than 300 films in 18 Indian languages as well as co-produced 15 award winning international films including Gandhi, Salam Bombay, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Adi Shankaracharya, Mirch Masala, Making of Mahatma and Train to Pakistan, amongst many. In the last decade, NFDC produced / co-produced 23 films in 12 Indian languages, and introduced 15 new filmmakers. Over the

years NFDC has worked with some of the most acclaimed filmmakers of India including Satyajit Ray, Mira Nair, Aparna Sen, Shyam Benegal, Govind Nihalani, Mrinal Sen, Richard Attenborogh, Adoor Gopalakrishnan and Ketan Mehta. NFDC is breaking new grounds by co-producing projects involving public-private partnerships. NFDC facilitates line production services of shooting in India and animation services of overseas clients. NFDC organizes Film Bazaar India- a co-production and distribution market for the South Asian region alongside the International Film Festival of India, Goa. NFDC has its own home grown VOD platform www.cinemasofindia.com streaming over 100 feature films.

A Night of Light, Legacy & Cinema by NFDC - NFAI under the National Film Heritage Mission restoring and reviving the cinematic gems that shaped India’s storytelling soul.

Last evening in Mumbai, Pyaasa returned to the big screen, not just as a film, but as a living memory of Guru Dutt, whose vision still echoes 100 years on.

The evening was graced by some of the finest voices in Indian cinema I.e, Javed Akhtar, Hansal Mehta, R. Balki, Sudhir Mishra, Bhawana Somaaya, Anubhav Sinha, Vikramaditya Motwane, Rituparna Sengupta, Divya Dutta, Akshay Oberoi, Anoop Soni, Juhi Babbar, Siddharth Roy Kapur, and Sushil Agrawal & Rajat Agrawal from Ultra Media.

We at NFDC and Waves Film Bazaar are thrilled to announce that SHAPE OF MOMO, a film by Ms Tribeny Rai has been selected for the prestigious NEW DIRECTORS section at 73rd San Sebastian Festival (SSIFF).

The film was part of the prestigious Work-In-Progress Lab at Film Bazaar 2024, where the film was mentored by Cristina Carrasco Hernandez. It was also curated under the special Film Bazaar Recommends section.

In this quirky tale of tangled emotions, Gulshan Grover stars as Prabhod, a filmmaker collaborating with his cinematographer, M (Atul Kulkarni), on a new project. Sparks fly when M meets the film’s lead actress, Sushmitha (Masoomi), who quickly becomes infatuated with him. But as filming progresses, Prabhod finds himself drawn to Sushmitha too.
