We are honored to recall the remarkable achievements of the late Smt. Vijaya Mulay, a visionary filmmaker and film historian who was felicitated with the prestigious IDPA Ezra Mir Lifetime Achievement Award.

Ezra Mir was a pioneering Indian filmmaker who directed several Hindi films in the 1930s. He later transitioned to documentary filmmaking, producing over 700 films, including notable works like Pamposh (1954) and This Our India (1961). Mir was a founding member and first president of the Indian Documentary Producers Association (IDPA) in 1956.Ezra Mir was honored with the Padmashri in 1970 for his contributions to Indian cinema. IDPA's highest award, presented to senior professionals in recognition of their service to the documentary film movement in India, is named after him.
