Girls everywhere are changing the world. Yet, the gaps between girls and boys remain unacceptably wide. Adolescent girls are locked out of opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math - not for lack of talent or ambition - but because they are girls”, said Secretary-General

The crisis is further threatening decades of progress made towards gender equality.

“On this International Day of the Girl, let’s stand together with them, for them. Let’s nourish their talents, amplify their voices and work together for a better, more equal future for us all, “ added the Secretary-General.

“It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.” — Albert Einstein

We’re kicking off October’s new theme PERSEVERANCE.

Studies find that perseverance, or grit, has double the impact on success as talent does. That is, the person who tries again — and again — is more successful than the person is who is “better” but not persistent.

Trying again habitually, even when you don’t want to, even when it’s uncomfortable (and it often is), even under great pressure, will determine, almost singularly, the size and scope your success.

Join us this month as we retell stories that harness the power of perseverance.

Taking a beat from our regularly scheduled programming to honour Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Thank you for fighting the good fight, for women all over the world.

When Juctice Ginsburg was asked, in 2015, what she wanted to be remembered for, she said this: “Someone who uses whatever talent she had to do her work to the best of her ability. And to help repair tears in her society, to make things better a little better, through the use of whatever ability she has.”

May your legacy be our motivation to be actively in pursuit of true justice for all. Rest in Power, .

The Curiosity Club Mumbai converses with one of Mumbai’s leading historians, Alisha Sadikot ( ), learning how she converted her passion of history & heritage into a successful career, her journey into creating fascinating heritage walking tours in the city & much more!

Watch our conversation on IGTV for some never-before heard stories of Mumbai & read on for highlights:

On The Inheritage Project:
“I want to broaden and deepen the conversation on art and heritage. I want more people talking about history, engaging with it, not just in museums, but also the streets of city.”

“The biggest challenge is a shift in mind-set. You need to shift the focus from the museum collection to the museum audience”

On how she curates her heritage walking tours:
“Often it is looking at the city as a mosaic or a jigsaw puzzle, where every area has its own story to tell. When you start to unravel the stories in the physical space, then it’s a walking tour”

On one of Mumbai’s most interesting stories:
“In the early 1800s,when there was no electricity, there was enterprising business out of Boston who would cut up huge sheets of ice and ship it all the way to India. When it arrived 8 months later, ice became a craze, a luxury item!”
