When I needed a hand, I found a paw🐾
I don’t think people realize how lonely adulthood can get sometimes.
I’ve always been a people person. Growing up as a single child, I think a part of me always craved having someone around. Then life happened so fast. I moved to Bombay, started working, started living alone, and somewhere between hectic work days, unhealthy environments, stress, pressure, anxiety and constantly trying to survive… I slowly stopped feeling like myself.
The worst part wasn’t even the workload.
It was coming back home to silence.
An empty house after an exhausting day can do something to you mentally. Especially when you’re already struggling physically and emotionally too. There were days I genuinely felt like I was just existing. Wake up. Work. Come back. Repeat. Autopilot mode…
Then I moved to Jaipur and had to start all over again.
New city. New life. New people. And making friends as an adult is not as easy as people make it seem. Summer here made everything feel even quieter somehow. Outside of work, I barely knew anyone. Even at home, all of us were dealing with our own stress. All three of us would sit together, but still be somewhere else mentally.
And then Mika came into our lives❤️🧿
And suddenly… the life felt worth living again.
Now I rush back home because someone is actually waiting for me. My parents smilemore. We create moments together without realizing it. We laugh more. We talk more. Even our bad days feel softer because there’s this tiny little soul running around the house bringing all of us together.
And for me, she came into my life at a time when I truly needed love the most.
The kind of love that asks for nothing.
She doesn’t know what job I do.
She doesn’t know how much money I make.
She doesn’t know my insecurities, my anxiety, my bad days or the parts of me that felt broken.
She just chose to love me anyway.
Completely. Unconditionally.
I was still trying to find “ my person” throughout of life.
And somehow, this tiny goofball became exactly that for me. 🤍
