We have a new addition to the Know Your Professor series, we have with us Prof. Rohit Srivastava of the Department of Biosciences and bioengineering who was kind enough to find out some time for a great chat with us. He talks with us about his experience of receiving Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, his teaching experience with IITB students, and his research and reveals his ideas of a good research scholar.

Patriotic fervor swept the campus on 15th August as IIT Bombay celebrated the 75th Independence Day which was truly Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The national flag was hoisted at 9 am at the NCC area and near the main building, followed by a series of events which include the 1000 feet tiranga march which happened after 2 years on campus. The life-size statues of Dandi (salt satyagraha) marchers, lead by none other than our father of the nation. The 75th Anniversary of Independence Day is indeed a special occasion that we must not forget to celebrate and we should also pause for a while to remember the freedom fighters without whose sacrifices we would not have been where we are today.

Around 100 students gathered near the main building on 19th July. The students started with a silent protest near SOM and with the increase in number of participants day-by-day, a protest rally was organized starting from H12 to the main gate on 25th July. The main concern of the students was to raise the question of fee hike when the stipend they receive is stagnant in the open house. Focused meetings were conducted by the administration which resulted in the revision of SMA. The protests are still going on and students are waiting for the final decision from the administration.

Phase II: Auditions for Assistant Directors and Assistant Cinematographers, 7:30PM on 9th July [Saturday]
Phase III: Auditions for Assistant Video Editors, 7:30PM on 10th July [Sunday]

Venue for all the phases: H3 Lounge

Important note: There would be no online auditions. So it is required for you to be in the institute.

Greetings from IITBBC.
On May 2nd, 2022, the Interdisciplinary Programme in Climate Studies (IDPCS, IIT Bombay) completed 10 years of it's existence. The department initiated at a doctoral level in 2012 has ever since grown it's roots in to several other academic domains and has been performing exceedingly well, earning several awards, publications and accolades along the way.
Through this documentary by us, we bring to you, snippets of this decade-long journey of IDPCS, featuring some of the many pillars of the department narrating the philosophy behind setting up of the department, what makes it unique, the challenges faced, the rewards reaped and what does the future has in store for IDPCS.
