Nature and the Mind
Mind is like AI that is configured to know the ways and means of this nature to acquire life, power, wealth and the pleasures.
Mythologically, Hiranyakashipu and his mind knew how to leverage nature to create his might. Nature, as a once in a lifetime event, transformed into Narasimha to kill him.
Nature shows its true-ness when the mind has no clue of his fall, blind in pleasure.
As a story, Kauravas with the mind of Sakuni knew how to leverage nature to throw out the Pandavas and become supremely powerful and mighty. Nature took the form of Krishna and guided the Pandavas to victory.
After the defeat of Bheeshma, Dronacharya became the commander-in-chief of the Kaurava army. Dronacharya was a formidable warrior, and defeating him seemed impossible as long as he remained armed. He possessed powerful weapons like the Brahmastra and Divyastra, making him invincible even to the gods.
Krishna devised a plan to pacify Dronacharya. He knew that Dronacharya’s only weakness was his son, Ashwatthama. Krishna invented ‘Ashwathama hata iti Gaza’ (Ashwathama is dead but it is an elephant) to kill his father Dronacharya.
There are umpteen examples of nature defeating human mind AIs in the Mahabharata itself, when the need arises.
Mind is a system essential to create, maintain and destroy life in the nature. Else the nature will be empty, void and a huge nothingness. So it is a nature’s way to make things lively, playful and pleasurable. Nature has made it selfish, motivated, ambitious and hard working to make this illusionary world work.
The problem is that when you have the ability to make the cake, you have to eat it too, and become fat! When we get fat beyond a limit, you die. We are the cause of our own deaths.
Similarly, I believe that it was nature giving the strength to one person to lead a mass walk from south to north of India, and then a mass travel from east to west India. It is not mind’s work. It is nature’s work. Destruction was getting eminent. It was time for a tiny Prahlad to bring an end to the mighty Hiranyakashipu, time for Pandavas to defeat the huge army of the Kauravas.
Nature has sown the seeds for destruction to begin, new seeds to grow and bloom… till even that needs to get destroyed, like the jaduvansh was destroyed.
