Our ad still flexin’ after 15 freakin’ years 😎🔥
Original track was Tik Tok by Kesha, but we slapped in the viral banger FA9LA by Bahraini rapper flipperachay from Dhurandhar and ad still hits in 2025 like it just dropped yesterday 😤💥
Shots still fresh, cinematography still fire 🔥🎥
We shot this in Budapest back in the day, with a B-Boy dancer from the UK (shoutout to Suprotim Day for the plug 🙏) and directed by Director X , one of the GOAT music-video guys.
Agency was JWT (VML now), and it all happened ’cause we randomly bumped into Mandeep Singh , the film guy at JWT - man’s the real MVP of this saga 😄

Give client headache or take the client headache? 🤕➡️😎

In our line of work, as producers or service folks, we’re expected to take all the client/agency headache on our head so that once the job is awarded, they feel like their work is already done. If instead you give them extra headache or become “difficult”, then bro, good luck getting the next job 😂

That’s why the holy word “comfort” is used (and abused) when choosing preferred vendors 😌

Now the truth is, agencies and clients will ask for stuff that is totally not in the job description.

Visa help ✈️

Talking to celeb managers on their behalf 💅

Fixing language artworks 🌏

Even doing random logistics 🛻

And producers just do it, because that’s how the game works.

But the moment you start acting tough and keep throwing T&C sheets every time they ask for something, now you are the headache 🤦‍♂️

Sure, sometimes the asks are unfair and you gotta draw a line. But basically, choose your battles wisely.

If booking a cab for a client that costs 3K 🚕 saves the relationship and leads to 5 lakh extra for language edits later, that’s a solid ROI 😂💸

#1 – “Bro relax, I’ll give you a banger film 🔥 and a killer director.”
#2 – “Budget, no budget, half budget… I’ll do it at any cost 😭.”
Both have a market. Both have a grind.
Both got hustle.

Producer Type 1
Slow and steady, but stacking reputation 💪
Dropping solid films, bringing fresh talent, leveling up every project.
Consistent delivery = phone will always ring for the big jobs 📞💰
That’s the dude who gets respect and money.
Aka the A-List alley.

Producer Type 2
Just wants to enter the party by breaking the backdoor 🤦‍♂️
“Any budget chalega sir, bas kaam dedo.”
Next thing you know…
You’re the ‘jab sab mana kar dein tab isko call karo’ guy.
Not cute bro 😬
Low-budget fixer today, disposable tomorrow.

Choose your fighter wisely.

Gym Trainer Story 🏋️

My gym trainer quoted 10K per month for a retainer.

I look around and see three other trainers chilling, zero clients, zero action -

Just scrolling reels and flexing their muscles in the mirror 💪

So I try being a smart businessman:

Me: “Bro, 8K works?”

Trainer 1: “Nah.”

Trainer 2: “Nope.”

Trainer 3: “No way.”

So I walk back to the original guy and pay 10K like a clown buying overpriced popcorn at a multiplex 💸🍿

Later, curiosity kicks in.

I ask one of the idle guys,

“Bro, why didn’t you take 8K? Better than sitting idle, na?”

And he drops the most producer-level wisdom ever:

“I’m not a producer. I’d rather sit and twiddle my thumbs than work for less when you can clearly pay more.”

Mic. Drop. 🎤💪

Client: So how much will it cost to make this film?
Producer: What’s your budget?
Client: Why don’t you tell us how much it costs?
Producer: Tough to say without your budget. Your budget decides the director and crew.
Client: Okay then give us your best cost.
Producer: Cool, let me first share some director reels.
Client: We don’t like these. Can you share better directors?
Producer: Sure, but the better ones will be expensive.
Client: No, show us the good ones. We don’t want to compromise.
Producer: Alright, here are the top guys in the category.
Client: Nice. And the cost?
Producer: Around 1.2 Cr.
Client: Oh no, we only have 20 Lakhs.
Producer: Then maybe look at fresh directors.
Client: But we want the best directors.
Producer: Maybe talk to them directly? Who knows, they might find some jugaad.
Client: Never mind… project on hold.

“I’ll do your film cheap” 😂
Bro we all heard that one. Every Line Producer (LP) is like low budget? chill bro, work with us, we’ll manage 💁🏽‍♂️
But the second you drop the script and real requirements… BOOM 💣💥
Suddenly they’re more pricey than your regular guy 😭
Why? It’s basic math.
If you’re rolling with a legit director, they come with their own crew and their own demands. DoP ain’t giving secret discounts to LP1 or LP2. Same rates everywhere ✋🎥
To squeeze a film into the client’s chindi budget, the producer + director gotta sit down and cook a plan 🍳
Smaller set, long shift, less shoot days, cut here cut there, full on jugaad vibes ✂️💸😤
And none of that happens unless the director says yes 😮‍💨
That’s where creative producers flex their muscle 💪🎬
And real talk, some directors will compromise with one producer and won’t move even 1 inch for another 😌
So yeah, looking at one film and saying how did they manage that is pointless, coz we don’t really know what went down behind the scenes 😌🎬.

Because God forbid… what if ONE of those calls is actually about a fat-paid freelance gig? 😱💸
