Delhi to Jaipur by road in the Hyundai Alcazar DCT
Started from Noida at 10:40 AM. The first 45 minutes were lost at Kalindi Kunj but once on the DND–KMP Expressway and then the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, the drive was fast and uninterrupted. Facilities like fuel pumps, cafés and clean washrooms make the expressway convenient, though truck-induced grooves on some patches were noticeable.
From Bandikui, the Jaipur stretch was narrower but scenic with glimpses of the Aravallis. Arrival in Jaipur was at 2:20 PM, including a quick break for fuel and tea.
The Alcazar driven was the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol variant with 160 HP and 253 Nm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. On the expressway, the engine and gearbox combination felt smooth and responsive. Overtakes were easy, stability was reassuring and the suspension handled undulations well, making the long run less tiring.
Fuel efficiency in the city had been close to 6 km/l, but on this highway trip it improved to 12.4 km/l. Features such as lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control added to the ease of driving long distances.
The Alcazar’s matte finish gave it a distinct presence. Inside, the cabin felt premium and spacious for five adults, though the third row remains best suited for short stints or children. On the return, the automatic gearbox made slow-moving Delhi traffic much easier to deal with after covering hundreds of kilometres.
The Delhi–Jaipur run highlighted the Alcazar’s strengths as a comfortable, feature-rich long-distance cruiser, though efficiency remains an area for improvement.
