From Training Humans to Training AI: The New L&D Frontier

At The Future of HR & L&D Summit and Awards Series, I had an insightful interaction with Gunjan Gupta, CEO of Violet Infosystems, on how the role of HR and Learning & Development is rapidly evolving in the age of AI.

A key shift he highlighted:
L&D will no longer be limited to training people—it will also involve training AI agents.
While this may feel like a big transition for HR, it’s a necessary evolution to stay relevant in the future of work.

Another powerful perspective was on how we view AI:
Instead of seeing it as competition, we should treat AI as a friend and collaborator—a tool that enhances our capabilities rather than replaces them.

The future of corporate learning is also undergoing a transformation:
šŸ“Œ Moving away from traditional classroom sessions and static modules
šŸ“Œ Shifting towards ā€œjust-in-timeā€ learning—where knowledge is delivered exactly when needed
šŸ“Œ Enabling a more conversational, problem-solving approach to learning on the job

This shift will redefine how organizations build skills—making learning more agile, contextual, and impactful.

A forward-looking conversation on how AI, learning, and human adaptability will shape the next era of HR.

Redefining Intelligence in the Age of AI

At The Future of HR & L&D Summit and Awards Series, I had the pleasure of interacting with Satadal Chakraborty, who shared a refreshing perspective on how we define intelligence in today’s AI-driven world.

One powerful idea stood out:
Human Intelligence is no longer singular—it’s a combination.
šŸ‘‰ HI = AI + BI + CI (and beyond)

In this evolving equation:
šŸ”¹ AI (Artificial Intelligence) enhances capability
šŸ”¹ BI (Behavioral Intelligence) shapes culture through everyday actions
šŸ”¹ CI (Cognitive Intelligence) drives judgment, decision-making, and critical thinking
šŸ”¹ And importantly, Diversity Intelligence ensures we listen to the voices that often go unheard

A key reminder was that the relationship between humans and technology isn’t about choosing one over the other—it’s about integration and amplification.

Another insight that resonated deeply:
HR & L&D professionals rarely get the time to pause and reflect. Platforms like these become essential spaces to learn, exchange ideas, and reimagine the future.

For the next generation, the message was simple yet profound:
✨ Stay curious.
Because ultimately, it’s not your birth year that defines you—it’s your mindset.

A thought-provoking conversation on how curiosity, intelligence, and human potential will shape the future of work.

Leadership, Learning & AI: Building Resilient Workplaces

At The Future of HR & L&D Summit and Awards Series, I had the opportunity to connect with Sabita Patra and exchange perspectives on the evolving role of AI, leadership, and workplace culture.

One of the strongest takeaways from our conversation was clear: AI is not here to replace us—it’s here to enhance us. The real advantage lies in how effectively we learn to leverage AI to build a stronger, future-ready skillset.

Equally powerful was the discussion around leadership and resilience. Creating a healthy work culture isn’t just about performance—it’s about giving people the space to experiment, fail, and grow. Because in reality, failure isn’t the opposite of success—it’s a crucial part of the journey toward it.

For the younger generation—Gen Z and Gen Alpha—the advice was simple yet impactful:
⚔ Fail fast, learn faster, and keep moving forward.
The energy to embrace failure and turn it into growth will define the leaders of tomorrow.

A truly enriching exchange on how AI, leadership, and mindset will shape the future of work.

AI, Hospitality & the Future of Employee Engagement

At The Future of HR & L&D Summit and Awards Series, it was a pleasure connecting with Nakul Dasani, Senior Management – Employee Engagement (HR) at Impresario, and discussing how AI is reshaping learning, talent management, and employee development in the hospitality industry.

One of the most interesting insights was how AI is being used not to replace people, but to empower them. With a Learning Management System supporting nearly 6,000 employees, AI-driven learning videos are now available in multiple regional languages such as Bengali, Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, and Hindi—making learning more accessible and inclusive across the workforce.

Another fascinating application is the use of AI-powered voice recording systems that capture live guest interactions across brands pan-India. These insights help identify challenges on the floor and enable HR teams to implement improvements that benefit teams nationwide.

In the age of AI, the most important skill is the willingness to stay open to learning. As Nakul highlighted, professionals must move beyond being limited to a single expertise and instead evolve into multi-skilled, adaptable contributors.

A great conversation on how technology, learning, and human adaptability are shaping the future of work in hospitality.

Conversations on the Future of Corporate Learning

At The Future of HR & L&D Summit and Awards Series, we had an insightful conversation with Mr. Vinod Krishnan on how AI is reshaping corporate learning, leadership thinking, and the future of workforce development.

One key takeaway: AI should augment, not replace, the human side of learning. While AI can efficiently handle structured programs like inductions and knowledge modules, human elements such as storytelling, coaching, mindset shifts, and motivation remain irreplaceable.

Mr. Krishna also emphasized that organizations must move beyond ā€œtick-the-boxā€ upskilling initiatives and adopt an outside-in perspective—listening to customers, vendors, investors, and even regulators to truly understand capability gaps.

His advice to the next generation was equally powerful:
In a world full of uncertainty, focus on your karma (duty) without being attached to outcomes. A simple habit he recommends — read even one line of the Bhagavad Gita every day.

A conversation that beautifully blended technology, strategy, and timeless wisdom.
